Shivom, I definitely agree with you to a large extent. There is a lot between the faiths that is shared, even many moral principles. I think more time and energy needs to be put into helping people understand these commonalities in order to bridge communication and connection across differences. However, I also think it’s important for us to still acknowledge points of contention, such as the common criticism related to the fact that many modern terrorists are self-identifying with a form of jihad. It may be the answer that the religion such individuals are claiming is not in fact the true Islam, but we must address that issue either way and work through it as a community and society in order to promote peace and tolerance.
