Reply To: In Lecture 2, Dr. Dru Johnson mentions that there has been a decline in biblical literacy in the Church. After taking this course, what are some recommendations you would give to church leadership to increase biblical literacy?
I agree that church leaders can set a good example by showing that they are still learning also about Bible interpretation and then to show how they apply principles they’ve learned to examples in sermons or elsewhere. And if churches can educate young people not only in Bible literacy but also in Bible fluency, then they can set up students well for a lifetime of more vibrant Bible engagement.
