I saw many icons when I traveled to Russia and visited the Orthodox church. I found it interesting watching the clergy carrying an icon during the procession. It was not something I had seen before. There is something to be said about the visual. I know when I visit old churches in the U.S. and Europe, I am drawn to the stained glass, the paintings, and the sculptures.
