Your family member from UVA sounds very much like the young people I encounter. My 30 year-old son claims that Israel is purposefully withholding food from the citizens of Gaza and targeting civilians. Having not served in the military, he is unaware of the complexities of conducting combat within such a densely populated urban environment. Especially against a terrorist organization that shields itself behind the innocent. My wife attempts to talk to our daughter about the crisis only to be dismissed or be labelled “MAGA.” My encouragement is to remain consistent in your position and attempt to refute the falsehoods.
