I had the same question, Wendy. I was surprised to learn that Judaism does not acknowledge man’s state of being in sin and separated from God. I thought this was a point of agreement, but that the remedy in Judaism was good works/keeping Torah. I agree that there are multiple examples in the Old Testament, such as Jeremiah 17:9: “The heart is more deceitful than all else, and is desperately sick; Who can understand it?” or Psalm 51:5: “Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me.” Thank you for bringing this up!
