Good take Isabel. I feel like the Near East is unpredictable. So many changes can happen. From when the lectures were recorded we did see the Assad regime fall even though they believed they would be in power forever. We saw how more intense the Israel-Hamas war has gotten since October 7. The region feels so fluid which can keep you on your toes. Therefore, what I thought I knew was definitely revised as new details emerge from the region.
