I have never been told that supporting Israel prevents you from supporting Palestinians. As an immigrant to Canada from Israel, my framing for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is personal and national, but from an Israeli perspective. I have always thought that supporting Israel means providing a better life for Arabs, especially non-Muslim Arabs, within the land of Israel. Up until recently, I was open to but not committed to the two-country solution. However, in the aftermath of October 7th, I no longer support an independent state of Palestine or the national aspirations of the Palestinian people. I am not willing to risk my life nor my family’s lives any longer in the hope that the other side will come to the negotiation table. They have lost their right to negotiate, I do not believe they deserve any land anymore. All of it belongs is part of Jewish patrimony, and if Jews continue attempting peace for land, we will continue reaping the same fruits.
