This must have been heartbreaking to hear from someone living through the crisis. I would love to hear more about your trip and the people you met there. Have you continued your communication with your family friend? Realistically, did your friend and their family see remaining in Lebanon as a feasible decision? Is there even an ability to leave, at least for a time, in the midst of the current crisis?
