The course gave me a deeper picture of the multi-faceted conflict between Jews ands Muslims, but also between majority and minority groups. I also learned the challenges of anti-Semitism, some of which was taught in the church. While there is a more pro-Israel tone in the church now, this wasn’t the case in years past.

This course shows Theodor Herxl’s desire for a permanent Jewish State of Israel. That way the Jews could have a homeland. This course gives me an appreciation for how 1948 started, and there was a sales pitch needed to justify the existence of a new Jewish state.

This course also helps see things from a more global perspective. How can peace between Jews and Palestinians be achieved. It may not be a one size fits all. As Christ’s ambassadors, we should seek peace and unity like the Abraham Accords.
