Maya, you’re quite right that many campuses (both faculty and fellow students) have failed to protect Jewish students from, or have subjected them to, antisemitic acts and harassment in ways that would have been shocking even two years ago. This is all too prevalent on campuses everywhere. You’re also right that many Christians are unfortunately reluctant to get involved in ‘politics’ as they see it; highlighting the very real human suffering that antisemitism brings about is one way to get around this. Other Christians will be less likely to see giving voice to their faith, or taking action informed by their faith, as ‘political’ if they get to know actual human beings that antisemitism has negatively affected.
