Reply To: In your opinion, why is it important for Christians to stand up for religious freedom for people of all faiths, and not just our own?

I think we as Christians need to be mindful about advocating for a society in which everyone is free to practice their beliefs and not just our own faith, because a free society allows us to speak the name of Jesus without being labeled as “hypocrites.” When people can engage in free dialogue where it is not one-sided, they are more receptive to listening to each other even if we do not agree with one another. A place where we can speak freely and are protected is a place where we can find civilized conversations and can have productive outcomes. As a Christian I yearn and am determined to bring people to Christ, however it is not by beating others over the head with the Bible, but by engaging in dialogue that is filled with patience and the love of Christ. If my society was forced to only practice Christianity, then many people would not be following Christ truly with their hearts but because they were being forced to. This can be said about any faith. I want people to have a biblical conviction and to follow Christ with their hearts and not because they were being forced to.
