Yes! I think that the question of humanity’s intrinsic nature is fascinating, particularly in comparing the concept of original sin with the traditionalist/modernist Jewish teaching that human nature is “free” to uphold God’s commands and otherwise born innocent. This differential is especially interesting because (as far as I understand) both Christian and Jewish teaching both accept the existence of the garden of Eden (and the rest of Genesis for that matter) — so this difference in doctrine is not born out of one religion’s rejection of another’s holy text. Out of curiosity, I did some additional Google searching on the matter, and encountered this quotation from a Jewish source: in contrast to the Christian belief that “all are born with an innate and uncontrollable lust for sin,” “Moses admonishes his young nation not to question their capacity to remain faithful to the mitzvoth of the Torah” (https://outreachjudaism.org/original-sin/). I see now how belief in original sin could necessitate baptism, confession, and other Christian sacraments/rituals in a way that Judaism eschews by suggesting that human nature is not inherently/unequivocally tinted by evil.
