I think that is such a great way to approach a person of another faith! Volunteer events where there is a job to do, a task to be done, is a really comfortable, middle of the road place to start. It does not feel so pressuring as inviting someone of a different faith to a sermon where alienation might occur. I do the same with more intellectual-based events, like when an author or more expert speaker holds an event. When people of varying faiths can engage with a stimulus and feel comfortable that they will not be outnumbered or pressured, the engagement has a much better outcome.
