Prior to the course the extent of my knowledge of the Syrian conflict was the bits and pieces we see from the various Western news outlets and we are all aware of the reliability of that particular portion of information. I have completed my courses and received my certificate long ago however I have returned to complete the others given I thought the originals I did were very well structured and informative. I was interested in better understanding the Syrian conflict because I know next to nothing about it and it seems to be a major geopolitical issue where many great powers are invested. I also seems to Deteriorating even further instead of getting better and it may end up being a hotspot where many situations may arise that will effect my personal interest in the region. This course has shaped my perception of the conflict entirely and has given me great insight into the motives and strategies of all the players trying to take a portion of this nation for themselves.
