I believe that my faith has influenced my approach (more so subconsciously) when considering foreign policy.
Growing up as a Catholic, I took to heart the idea of doing the work of Christ and having care and compassion.
Becoming a Protestant (a non-denominational Christian), I began to view Israel’s significance in foreign policy through a biblical lens.
Neither of these perspectives, I believe, were necessarily negative, but I was more cautious with radical opinions, as I did not know much about foreign policy at the time.
Taking these classes has made me realize the importance of being an ambassador for Christ not only locally but also on a larger, global scale.
I also can think of meeting people (growing up) who were more opionated pro- and anti-Israel views, while my Catholic parents often reminded me to pray for peace in the Middle East.
Since taking these courses, I feel more moved to take an active stand rather than remaining passive.
