Yes! I have been told this several times, mostly by well-meaning friends who see the conflict differently. It’s frustrating to hear that. After taking this course, I think I would respond to this criticism in a couple of different ways: firstly, by quoting Christ Himself, who said that “blessed are the peacemakers”(Matthew 5). I believe trying to bring peace between Israelis and Palestinians would be approved of by Christ. Secondly, by thinking about how a Hebraic leader would solve this conflict: by doing the best he or she can in these circumstances, by seeing the positive in both sides, by doing one’s best and knowing that it is indeed possible to support both Israel and a free and independent Palestine.
