I agree about keeping soldiers safer by means of the Aerial Vehicles being unmanned. It makes the Kamikazi pilots in WWII seem archaic by comparison. It also creates an element of emotional detachment to the actions the weaponry are carrying out, which I have also heard pilots feel compared to soldiers that are boots-on-the-ground, and might actually interact with the enemy more directly. When everything relies on machines, it is less a question of military planning and outsmarting the enemy, and more about which nation has the money, resources and brains to create a force that works and works well.
