Reply To: In your opinion, why is it important for Christians to stand up for religious freedom for people of all faiths, and not just our own?

I think it is an important idea to stand up for all people to practice their religious beliefs. I am a Christian and I appreciate my freedom here in my country (USA) that allows me to practice my faith. In my country, I see many different kinds of religions. Although I wish everyone would be a Christian like myself, I respect and appreciate the value that everyone can worship God according to his or her own conscience. In many ways it is a blessing to see the Jewish people on the Sabbath go to their synagogues and have Sabbat in their own homes. Our Christian faith has its origin in the Jewish faith. Jesus was a Jew and grew up in Israel and practiced Judaism in His day. Islam is borrowed from both Jewish and Christian beliefs. In this way there is a connection to both. Because of this, it show open up opportunities to speak to each other, respect each other, and even then stand up for each other to practice one’s faith tradition freely in whatever country you may live. If we do not stand up for each others rights, the day will come when our rights may be taken away!
