I so appreciate the reference to John! It is a misconception that “the Jews killed Jesus.” Jesus would have laid down his life no matter who nailed him to the cross. I agree too about having communication with our Jewish brothers and sisters. Having a diverse group of friends and community around you is important, but also keeps us from believing lies that might lead to deeper issues and evil intentions like Anti-semitism. I have a Jewish friend who I consult a lot with, always asking questions with genuine curiosity, and wanting to learn more and come to respect her faith and background even more. And you are right about Jesus! Rabbi Kaplan said, “Christianity started with a Jew.”
