I plan to engage in more conversations where I can’t predict the outcome and where there are differing opinions. This course gave me context, confidence, and empathy to move into spaces I would normally shy away from. Tangibly, I plan to ask people hard questions, listen even harder, and respond with empathy & truth. I grew up in a bubble where everyone talked, looked, and acted the same. This course has opened my eyes to the simple fact that the first followers of Jesus looked, talked, and acted very differently from me. I have to learn how to put myself in their shoes and subsequently the shoes of my neighbors to be a good leader.
