Great point regarding the linear instead of cyclical view of history. That helps highlight the “in-betweenness” of the Hebraic worldview with the already-not-yet and forward-looking hope of the coming Earthly Kingdom of God. Like you pointed out, Isaiah 60 is a beautiful passage living into this hopeful outlook, envisioning and believing that God ultimately wins and restores his people in the end, forever reigning in His holy city. This is the hope and ultimate reality to be for the Hebrew.
