Any form of unjust, unmeritable discrimination and prejudice, doctrinally fashioned or otherwise, against fellow human beings, righteous or unrighteous, religious or non-religious, ought be deemed uncharacteristic of God’s character, the teachings of Jesus Christ, and the decency of being, the consequence[s] of which is as unbearable and harsh as impeding and obstructing the image of God in every one of us. Alas! Human nature, no matter how noble our ideals, hopes, and practices may be, we fault, even if the intention was good. As such, we ought practice prudential dialogue with one another, learn to forgive, and embrace grace and humility. Above all, we must acknowledge our limits, for God is the beginning and the end of our story, and whatever our interpretations may be, we must not go beyond our limits. In the same vein, whenever we transgress–as we have many times before, and many times we will–we must seek repentance with sincerity and earnesty, in heart and in mind.
