I have served as a pastor for the last 32 years. My family and I have been at this church for the last 12 years. What I have done over the last 11 years or so is try to connect with my Jewish community. For the last 8 years, I have been able to work with the Jewish Federation to bring people from my church to various/appropriate activities. We have been well accepted with few exceptions. Our church provides help and counsel to people in the community. We have helped in community clean-up days, and blood drives, previously we opened our building up for a polling station at election time. We have used our mid-week time for
discipleship and children’s club. We have reached out to the local police a number of times to get to know them. Our homeschool group made cookies for the police and delivered them to the station. The local fire department came and did a demonstration for the children at the homeschool group.
