Reply To: In the first lecture, Dr. McDermott teaches that the Bible is one story, and that God upholds his covenant with the Jewish people to this very day. Was this what you were taught growing up? If not, how will this insight change the way you read the bible going forward?

I believe that I was very blessed with the way that I was raised. I grew up in the Catholic church, but I know that my family always spoke very highly of the Jewish people, and that God had a plan for them much like how he has a plan for each of us. I know that growing up I have met many people who were very friendly to the Jewish people. I would have to say that it wasn’t until fairly recently around 2020 to present, that I started hearing more and more about this replacement theology. I might’ve heard it once or twice, but I really didn’t care to know more about it.

I can tell you that, taking a lot of these courses has actually helped me on my spiritual path in Christ, and realizing that not only have, I been blessed to be raised the way that I was, but these courses have actually strengthened and solidified what I was raised with. And so I feel that these lectures in these courses have been very enlightening, very informative, and outright convicting. I don’t say this in any bad way, I say this in a very good way. I am grateful for the work that is happening here.
