Hi Kristina-I agree with you that the Dominican Republic was the only country to accept Israelite refugees. However, there is something more troubling—were the Israelites allowed to leave Germany? It sounds like wishful thinking, doesn’t it? I feel terrible about the Holocaust. It seems that there is a cultural backdrop of antisemitism, and there is an increasing disregard for Israelites in the United States. A certain university got publicly scolded for exhibiting and perpetuating “antisemitic” behaviour, by publicly writing a letter to HAMAS and saying they would join them in the fight against Israel! Why do individuals do this? Are they really aware of this historical problem? We really need to do better! Thank you for your post.
