Reply To: In your opinion, why is it important for Christians to stand up for religious freedom for people of all faiths, and not just our own?

Monica, I too can empathize with people who have different beliefs, as I am new believer. As a believer now, I do wish everyone believed what I did! But at the same time, as you said, people have to make the decision to submit to Christ. God does not force us to love him, but he does call all to repent. In Acts 17, Paul speaks to the people of Athens and states in verses 29-31: “Therefore since we are God’s offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone—an image made by human design and skill. In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead.”

God in his love wants all to repent, but he doesn’t force use either. I think we should have the same stance and allow people freedom.
