Reply To: In Lecture 2, Dr. Dru Johnson mentions that there has been a decline in biblical literacy in the Church. After taking this course, what are some recommendations you would give to church leadership to increase biblical literacy?
I like your ideas for how a church could improve biblical literacy. Our church is on the tailend of a sermon series that took us through the whole story of the Bible, beginning in Genesis last October and now we are wrapping it by going through Revelation. I think it helped our congregation appreciate larger narrative of Scripture but I think we could have done a better job of implementing some of the ideas you suggested like extended readings of Scripture and starting with some of the questions that we have.
