Christian antisemitism was the driving force for Jews to pursue the rebirth of Israel as their dwelling place. Christian Europe, not Islam drove the Jewish people out. Unfortunately, the history of Christian antisemitism is long and devastating. All of this is the back drop for the Israeli-Palestinian, or more generally the Israeli-Arab conflict. I think it’s important for Christians to learn about how antisemitism led to the creation of the modern State of Israel in order to be able to understand the conflict better and be able to minister to both Israelis, Arabs, and those that identify as Palestinian. Today, some Christians take issue with how the State of Israel was created and even sympathize with the Palestinian cause, however they don’t understand how Christians contributed to the dilemma in the first place. I think radical Islam is the greater threat now to the Jewish state, therefore it’s crucial for Christians to actively protect and practically help the Jewish people.
