Well said, Jonathan. Particularly in the ongoing conflict, it seems to me that many Americans wrongly assume that Israel is more dependent on the U.S. than they really are. From its inception, Israel has wanted national sovereignty. Americans overestimate how much leverage the U.S. has over Israel’s national security policy.
