Interestingly this sounds a lot like my church as well. The pastor regularly has to encourage the members to read the word and yet many times it seems many of them seem aren’t. I agree the pastors first job is to pray over his church and to seek the lords guidance in this matter. I think another thing is to make sure the congregation understands how important it is to truly know the Bible not just the stories but the context and deeper meanings
