Reply To: In the first lecture, Dr. McDermott teaches that the Bible is one story, and that God upholds his covenant with the Jewish people to this very day. Was this what you were taught growing up? If not, how will this insight change the way you read the bible going forward?

Thank you Bernard for sharing that. I agree. There are many Old Testament prophesies that speak to Israel being a nation through which the Lord blesses the nations. In addition, in Revelation as well it speaks to how Israel will be the center of all of the world thus reinforcing the Old Testament prophesies. Yes, I also agree that many Christians do not realize what the Bible means when it says that we, Gentiles, will make the Jews jealous and God will use that to turn their hearts back towards Him.
