My main takeaways after reading “Lebanon: Past Challenges, Present Calamities, Future Prospects” is that there is hope for preserving a pluralistic Lebanon in the future, but this relies with tremendous effect on a society rooted in federalism where a pluralistic culture can flourish, thrive, and be promoted. It is disheartening to see so much corruption undo what was once a flourishing and free society, yet, I think there is still so much hope for Lebanon in its founding roots – if only the culture can reverse the tide and focus on such reformations.
