Jonathan, I understand your value for wanting to ensure that the U.S’s mediation role would be agreed upon by both Israel and Palestine. However, I wonder if the U.S’s role could be strengthened if it collaborated with other states that shared a common vision for peace. In this way, the U.S would not be seen as the only and primary negotiator. I think it would be difficult for the U.S to try to present itself as impartial. But it could still do its best to be fair and that can go a long way.
