This example of seeking humility is an excellent typification of the Hebriac leader. You are so right when you say it is dramatically different and so incredibly counter-cultural to what the world considers good and authentic leadership. It recognizes honestly one’s limitations and sees God as the absolute authority. It is an authentic understanding of oneself and recognizing one as “poor in spirit” – as one who can do nothing without God. The poor in spirit are blessed and they receive the Kingdom of Heaven, so that is exactly what a Hebraic leader should be working towards.
