Reply To: After taking this course, in your own words, please define Hebraic leadership and what it means to you.

James Diddams

Hebraic leadership means taking the time to study the “map” of a situation, whether in international politics or in personal life, and before figuring out immediate ways to solve a problem, first asks what the proper orientation of service is. As Robert Nicholson said, being a Hebraic leader means knowing who you are and where you’re coming from in order to determine where you should be going. Being a hebraic leader means considering, in the “real world” where power means responsibility, the ways in which negatives are unavoidable, people will be hurt by whatever decisions that leaders make, but that leadership means carefully considering what the ultimate goods that are at stake are and then making a prudential decision in accordance with those goods. The Hebraic leader will be oriented towards those ultimate goods correctly if he or she, as a Christian, understands the orientation of Christianity for having come out of a Hebraic context.
