Reply To: In the first lecture, Dr. McDermott teaches that the Bible is one story, and that God upholds his covenant with the Jewish people to this very day. Was this what you were taught growing up? If not, how will this insight change the way you read the bible going forward?

Growing up, I also didn’t really read the Old Testament, and I just focused on the New Testament. I’m currently read the Old Testament now, but it really opened my eyes to find out the meanings of Jesus being “the lamb of God”. It also helps reading the Old Testament to know how God wanted things to be. How strict He was, but also how forgiving and gracious He was and still is with the way He kept forgiving Pharoah, and also how He forgave the Ninevites.
