Thank you for your wise words. I can attest based on my own life that allowing and encouraging people, especially young people, to get involved in running aspects of the church in a meaningful way is a great way to encourage biblical literacy. In my teen years I attended a church that gave me this opportunity, which I’m thankful for as it set me on a good life course to deepen my understanding in the Bible and God, even beyond what that church was teaching. In later years, the churches I attended required so many unnecessary hoops for people to jump through to even get minimally involved, and I saw many people walk away from faith in those churches and otherwise Biblically illiterate congregants.
