This is a major problem I have always seen in many churches, they completely disregard the old testament and the Jewish roots of the faith. The cartoon Christians who constantly offer a cute little WWJD, my response is always “He would refer to the old testament, which he did often”. There is the view that if something is not repeated in the new testament it’s irrelevant as if the old needs to be thrown out. I couldn’t disagree more it is the foundation upon which the new is built. I take the opposite view if it hasn’t explicitly been overturned by the new it should not be tampered with.
