There is that saying, “those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it,” and I think that rings true in this topic especially. Your points that being careless or ignorant are notable. We may not think we are doing any harm by remaining “neutral” (which of course we cannot truly do), but unless we are learning and caring, we are part of the problem.
