Reply To: Have you ever been told that supporting Israel prevents you from supporting Palestinians? After taking this course, how would you go about responding to false accusations like this?

Yes I’ve heard this and it’s silly. As a Christian it’s our duty to serve the at risk and the marginalized in the world. We support the Jewish people because of our shared heritage. We wouldn’t be here without them. And if we strive to be like our Savior then we should join him in weeping for Jerusalem and His people. And if we support the people we also need to support their state and right to live in their homeland. However, Jesus didn’t come for the Jew only. He didn’t come teaching his followers to outcast members of society. Just because we support the state doesn’t mean we have to stand with all it’s decisions and politics. We’re allowed to fight for Palestinians and their right to live in a land they grew up in and also have history in. But it’s not our job to create the solution. That needs to be created from the inside.
