Reply To: In your opinion, why is it important for Christians to stand up for religious freedom for people of all faiths, and not just our own?

Standing up for religious freedom for people of all faiths is important for Christians because God has called us to love justice and mercy and help the weak and oppressed. One way we can do this is by fighting for the religious freedom of others, even those we disagree with. This doesn’t mean we condone or affirm their beliefs or stop sharing the gospel. It simply means we understand all humans should have the right to practice their faith just as we as Christians desire religious freedom. From Scripture, we know that God has given humans a free will to choose to believe in Him or reject Him. God does not force individuals to accept His salvation or convert to Christianity. Religious freedom by definition should include all religions because if only one religion, let’s say Christianity, is authorized, then that is not true religious freedom. Furthermore, if you only promote religious freedom for Christians while ignoring the persecution of other religions, there will likely come a point where Christianity is the religion under attack.
