Hi Walton, thanks for sharing your thoughts on why and how the US should be involved in negotiations towards a resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict! One thing you pointed out that stood out to me was the need for consistency. I was reminded of the last lecture by Professor Walter Russell Mead where he talked about Israelis and Palestinians not trusting America’s support since American foreign policy has tended to waver and change in the past several years. I think that if the US does assist in negotiations, it would be beneficial for them to be consistent in support and follow through on promises instead of wavering and creating more uncertainty in the situation.
