Reply To: Are there elements of ancient and/or modern Near Eastern Christianity that are present in your own church/faith life? If so, what are they? If not, would you be open to implementing any?

Having come up in LCMS and WELS churches, I was definitely wondering how folks from that background could integrate some of the things Dr. Cochrane was speaking about, since many of the things he was encouraging people to be open to (icons for example) are arguably not acceptable for some conservative Protestants. I do think Lutheranism, which retains a liturgical structure for worship, is better equipped than some others to embrace the “bells and smells” elements of Eastern Christianity – things like processing in with incense would be different but not alien.
