Reply To: Do you think the U.S. should assist in mediating negotiations toward a resolution in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict? Why or why not?

Hi Erik, I agree with your assessment that the U.S. should assist in mediating the Israeli-Palestinian conflict only if both parties agree to it. Unilateral enforcement from the U.S. could exacerbate tensions and anti-American sentiment in the region. Moreover, the presence of other superpowers with interests in the Near East, such as China and Russia, presents a complex geopolitical dynamic. Allowing these authoritarian regimes to expand their influence unchecked could pose challenges to global stability. Therefore, the U.S. must carefully navigate its role as a mediator while being mindful of the broader geopolitical implications and ensuring that the interests of all parties involved are considered.
