Hasan Al-Bana and the Muslim Brotherhood focused more on and emphasized Islam and the religious duty of Muslims to liberate Arab nations from colonialism and imperialism. Said Qutb was especially influential in developing the ideology of the Muslim Brotherhood. Muslim Brotherhood targeted and criticized any Arab leaders who failed to defend Islam and declare Jihad.
Hasan Al-Bana and Said Qutb were influential in the political development of the Muslim Brotherhood and its ideology. The Muslim Brotherhood was active where the Arab Spring took place. It is especially active in the current conflict in Syria.
