I like that your church offers a book by book program that has gone on for so long. I wish I had an opportunity to participate in that. I agree with a lot of what you said, I think competition with other activities is a huge factor as young people have more responsibilities with school and sports or activities and far less and less time for church and their community within the church. People attend church far less, or only on Christmas and Easter and never form a relationship with Christ that is their own. I think, as he said in the lecture, that people often towards Church leaders for advice and guidance before turning to the Bible. This divides one’s relationship with Christ and elevates the importance of Church leaders and makes us susceptible to modern trends that distort the Bible.
