I agree that we need to rely on history to disprove supersessionism and display how the history of the church has promoted and partaken in antisemitism and persecution of the Jews. It’s hard to grapple with the fact that Christian leaders, such as Martin Luther and Pope Benedict, were terribly antisemitic and propagated ideas such as blood libel and deicide. I also agree that putting more emphasis on the Old Testament, and not dismissing it is the first step in encouraging Christians to understand Judaism and the history of the Jewish people.
