Hi Ivanna,
I agree with you when you say that it’s important to analyze history so that past sins are recognized and not repeated. I also think this is a very important reason why it’s so important to look back on the past and own up to the faults of those who came before us. If the Catholic Christians hadn’t persecuted the Jews during the diaspora, maybe we Christians today would not be supporting them either because we wouldn’t have had that example of failure from those with whom we are associated with. The past helped to teach us a lesson: Jews are important to God and have a special place in His heart.
