I appreciate the statement that though Malik’s proposed policies would leave Lebanon largely dependent on the West, they (Lebanon) would be better off (but far from perfect). I do believe that western influence in governance like federalism would be best for the state, however it MUST be accepted and directed by the people. If the people are bypassed then history repeats.
