Hi Clara! I also grew up surrounded by condemnation for Palestinians and really anything that could remotely be seen as “anti-Israel.” I would agree that showing people how much grey area there is in the situation is important. Many conservative Christians tend to gloss over the fact that Palestinians are not terrorists or worse, when indeed, they also are humans and have a right to self-determination. As Christians then, we are called to love all men, and wishing the total destruction of every Palestinian is incredibly contrary to our calling; instead, encouragement of assistance to a just resolution – precisely as you stated – should be shared within the Christian community.
